Eeppi Ursin

Eeppi Ursin has performed in bands ever since her early childhood. A career in music was soon the only satisfying choice. She studied oboe and played the piano to accompany her own singing. Jazz was however closer to her heart. After high school graduation, Eeppi studied in Orivesi and Joensuu, and returned to Helsinki to pursue her professional studies.

Eeppi has received several honors and recognitions, among them the first prize in in the prestigious Lady Summertime Jazz contest. Eeppi's ambitious compositions and heartfelt lyrics were featured on her much celebrated 2005 release, Violet. Her second solo album, Yellow Page Girl, was released on March 4, 2009 in Finland.

In addition to her native Finland, Eeppi has performed in Sweden, Norway, Kenya, Morocco, Switzerland, and the United States. She is also featured on several albums as a guest vocalist: with Soi-Ensemble; Mika Pohjola's Moomin productions and Christmas Carols, and the music by Toivo Kärki, on which she sings in the tango and jenkka tradition.
